GeoLives SA

Luxembourg-based GeoLives SA was established in early 2008 as collaboration between STAR-APIC, Europe's largest publisher of geographic software, and Géomatic Ingénierie, a Swiss company specialising in Internet applications. GeoLives' objective is to offer state-of-the-art digital applications, data and services for tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. GeoLives is based on the wide experience of both partner compagnies in the fields of global cartography, GPS outdoor solutions and applications for the general public.

GeoLives has incorporated the relevant projects and technologies from STAR-APIC and Géomatic. The resulting software is developed in-house or by partners.

We are proud to present the following achievements:

• the production of several mass-market DVDs for tourism in France, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands;
• the hosting of the largest cartographic tourism portal in Switzerland (Swissgeo);
• the creation of the EVADEO and GEORANDO portals, allowing the users of related GPS devices to order topographic maps and tourist guides online;
• the hosting of Internet tools to edit and publish trails and tours , provided as a service for tourist organisatins;
• the distribution of software for outdoor sports, for use on smart phones or similar devices (Palm, Windows, Symbian,...).

GeoLives currently has over 500 business-to-business customers and over 200,000 registered end-users throughout Europe.

GeoLives has established, along with STAR-APIC and Géomatic, partnerships with national mapping agencies and other data publishers or software developers. These partnerships have enabled us to establish the largest European database for outdoor sports and tourism (topographic maps, trails & points of interest).
